A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase land and add grocery products.

Srey's story

Srey Y. is 47 years old and resides in Siem Reap, Cambodia. She lives with her husband and three of her children. Two of her children are construction workers and one stays home. Mrs. Srey Y. works selling grocery products and some kinds of vegetables from her home. On average, she earns US$ 2.50 per day. Her husband grows and sells rice. He earns an approximately US$ 3 every day. Her husband grows rice two times a year, rainy season and dry season.

To respond to high cost of living, Mrs. Srey Y. would like to take out a loan to purchase farmland for her husband to grow rice on; any remainder would be used to add her grocery inventory.
