A loan helped to open a general store and get a stable source of income.

Mzevinar's story

Mzevinar is a 36-year-old married woman who is a mother of five children. She has a husband who works as a guard and gets a 400 GEL fixed salary. To make additional income and cover some family-costs, Mzevinar engaged in cattle breeding. She produces milk products that are sold locally. However, this large family requires rather more income to be financially stable and give a good education to the children. Mzevinar needs financial support to purchase a stock of products and to have money for working capital to start her own stable business. She has been approved for a loan within the framework of a joint initiative between Kiva and Credo. The start-up loan program provides business start-up loans with soft conditions to informal businesses that do not have access to credit products. She will open a general store near the house and will serve local people herself.
The loan will greatly assist Mzevinar and she will be able to improve her economic situation and give her family a better style of life.
