Emelia is a 38-year-old trader from Assin Fosu in the Central Region of Ghana. She is a member and representative of "Good Shepherd" Group. She is married with three children aged 16, 11 and 4 years old. All her children are in school. Emelia trades in rice, sugar, oil and provisions. She has one employee who assists her in the store. Emelia, together with her group members, has had a business relationship with the field partner since 2006. She has good repayment records with her past microloan cycles with the field partner.Emelia wants to expand her business within the next five years so that she can have varieties of food items and provisions to increase sales and cash flow to make more profit. She needs working capital support to buy more rice, wheat flour, sugar, frytol, etc. to increase her stock levels to meet the demand of her customers on time. She will use the profit from the business to meet the expansion needs gradually into the future.
