A loan of $275 helped to build a kiosk for his business.

Miguel's story

Miguel is 49 years old and lives with his partner, which whom he has four children. Happily, over all these years, they were able to acquire their own home that they now live in. He is a very active man who, for the past four years, has had a business selling groceries and sweets/snacks just outside his house. He displays some of his merchandise on tables, while hanging other items up in order to attract the public’s attention. He started out in this endeavor after noticing that this type of business was needed in his area. In addition to tending to his store all day, Miguel goes out at night to sell snacks and cigars on the streets. What he enjoys about his work is that it generates a good income. This is why he works hard since, as he says, “money doesn’t fall from the sky and one must make an effort to earn it”. This is why he isn’t content to just work during the day, but also spends some hours in the evenings to continue selling his products. As a result of his desire to continue to advance, he knew about the MFP loans and is now participating in his first loan along with other members of his cooperative bank. The amount Miguel is requesting is to build a kiosk where he may better display his products, and to protect them from the sun and rain.
