A loan of $950 helped purchase greater quantity of cheese.

Celia's story

Celia is a 42-year-old woman who has been living with the father of her 4 children for 25 years. After having lived in her mother-in-law’s house for many years, she and her husband now enjoy the comfort of living in their own home. They are both farmers who grow potatoes and peas. However, every other Thursday Celia collects cheese that her friends and neighbors make, and then she goes to town. There, she heads off to the province, where she finally purchases a ticket to the capital. Waking up in Lima on Saturday, she arrives at her sister’s house and starts her business distributing the cheese one by one. On Sunday, she collects payments and in the evening, she takes a bus home so that she can continue with the household and agricultural duties alongside her husband and children. This is her 7th loan with MFP. In the previous loan cycle, she was the treasurer of the group, fulfilling her post with great responsibility. She makes her payments punctually. The money she is requesting will help her purchase cheese, and the rest of the money will be used to purchase fertilizer for her potato farm, which will soon be ready to be tilled so that the seeds can germinate easily.
