A loan helped a member buy cereals that will be held as inventory and then sold.

Cfjdt 23 Group's story

CFJDT 23 is a sub-group affiliated with the "Convergence des Jeunes et Femmes pour le Développement de Tassette" (Women and Youth Movement for the Development of Tassette).

The group is comprised of six people (5 women and one young man) who all live in the village of Tassette. They get together at the end of each month in order to organize group loan activities and discuss strategies for combatting poverty. They all are involved in the same businesses and take their destinies into their own hands.

The president is named Fatou. She has her hand raised in the photo. She is a married mother who works in cereal sales. She is asking for a loan for this amount to buy millet, corn, sorghum, and peanuts. She will hold these as inventory until she sells them during the rainy season.

She helps her husband with the daily expenses and their children's schooling costs. Her workday goes from 6 am to 6 pm. In the future, she would like to have a large warehouse to reinforce her goods and diversify her products.

In this group: Fatou, Yacine, Malick, Ndèye, Sokhna, Amy
