A loan of $425 helped to buy school supplies.

Idalia Maria's story

Doña Idalia is 37 and lives in the Hialeah II neighborhood of Managua. She has a clothing and shoe store, which also offers soft drinks. She started her business eight years ago with her own savings. She has a 16-year-old son who goes to school, and then helps out in the store in the afternoons. Idalia is requesting a loan from AFODENIC so she can increase her inventory and offer a variety of products to her customers. She feels that the loans support and benefit her. This will be her eighth loan, which she will invest in school supplies. They will sell well since classes start soon. She plans to enter new market segments where she can meet her customers' needs. Her son is finishing up his studies, and Idalia's goal is to help him become a professional.
