Andrei's story

For more than10 years, Andrei’s main activity has been growing potatoes and vegetables. He started to work with his parents. Now he has extended his business by adding his wife. He processes 0.77 hectares of arable land and has a 150-square-meter greenhouse in the yard. Now he has decided to dig a well to irrigate the potatoes and vegetables. The business is located in Dubasari.

This loan is Andrei's third loan from MicroInvest. The first loan, to raise potatoes, was granted in December 2007. The second loan, in the amount of 20,000 lei ($2,000 USD), was granted in February 2008, and was used to raise potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage and melons. The purpose of this loan is to dig a well to have an easy access to water for irrigation. His future plan is to increase agricultural production and to start growing other types of vegetables.
