Mrs. R. is 43 years old and works growing rice as well as raising pigs for sale in Siem Reap Province. She is married to Mr. Ngan and they have three children, one of whom is married. Her husband is 45 years old and works growing green beans. R.'s business is going well, having been started in 2000 and earning around US$ 5 per day. She grows two rice crops a year in the rainy season and the dry season. And she raises pigs to sell for another source of income. To be able to raise moR. pigs and increase her income, R. would like to ask for a loan to purchase piglets and also insecticide for her husband's crop. She intends to repay it over 5 months.
