Yelba Iliana's story

Mrs. Yelba Iliana López B. is 41-years old and married with 2 children. Her daughter is 22 and in her 5th year at college, and her son is 15-years old, in his 4th year of secondary school. Her partner works as a merchant. Yelba’s goal is to run her business well, as it is her family’s main source of income. She adds new products to her store everyday which makes it difficult to manage. The support Yelba receives from different countries has allowed her to keep working toward her goals and she hopes to keep receiving this help. Her dream is that God will give her the strength to keep working and improving her business, and to teach her children how to fight for their own goals.

Yelba owns a local store and bakery, offering sweets, sodas, sweet bread, bread and juice. She has run her business from home for 10 years. Yelba began her business with only a few items like candy, detergent, soap and soda, but her customers needed more products so she increased her store’s inventory and also started the bakery, allowing her to use her baking skills to provide for her family’s needs. She now needs working capital to be used to stock her store with everyday items and to buy baking ingredients like flour, eggs, and butter for her delicious baked goods.
