Mrs. Sovy Vann Villag Bank Group's story

Twenty-four people living in Knong Preaek village in Kandal province comprise this village bank, and they will use their share of the loan for various purposes. Mrs. Sovy V., the 32-year-old village bank president, is a fish seller in the local market. Since her business is going well, she wants to expand it. Thus, she decided to request a loan to buy more fish to re-sell. She hopes to increase her income and improve the family's living conditions with this loan. Her husband, Mr. N. ME. Tech, is a waiter who can make only a small salary to support the family. Mrs. Sovy V. is the mother of a child who is enrolled in the local school.

One member in this group loan has an end-of-term loan and the rest have monthly payment loans. EoT borrowers are not required to pay any principal on the loan until the very end of the loan term. End-of-term (EoT) loans are AMK’s main product because it is the most beneficial to Cambodia’s poor. It allows them to repay portions of the principal whenever they are financially able to. Most clients start to make payments many months before the end of the loan term. Almost all of AMK’s clients make their payments on time. AMK has a delinquency rate of only 0.09% and AMK has a default rate of 0% on Kiva.
