Amalia's story

For more than twenty years Amalia has spent a great part of her time working and managing her grocery store. She has always looked for a way to generate income for her home, which is why her grocery store is not her first job. Previously, she worked at a moving fruit stand. However, she thinks that maintaining her store is a more secure job. In addition to attending business at her store, at nights she prepares Salchipapa (a dish comprised of potatoes and fried sausages), and sells Salchipapa from her house. Her youngest daughter accompanies her and always helps. She plans to continue improving her grocery store in order to have an diversity of goods and to be able to increase her sales. For now, she feels happy to have helped her five children with their studies.
