A loan of $800 helped to buy oxen.

Alejandro's story

Alejandro, aged 73, studied until third grade, but then it became difficult for him and he was not able to continue. His life partner looks after household chores, and his children are grown up and have their own families.

Alejandro has worked in farming since he was very small, as his father work in the same profession. Today, he farms 14,000 square meters of corn during winter, and also works with oxen. He uses them for transporting produce to places which vehicles cannot access. He does this year round, as and when needed.

The loan funds will be used to buy oxen, since he needs them to transport his harvest, and currently has no means of transport to do so.

His dream is to buy cows so that he can sell milk.
