A loan helped to purchase stock of goods such as sugar, rice, maize and wheat flour, and cooking fat oil.

Meali's story

Meali is a divorced woman and has one child who attends school. She lives at a rental house that has electricity and piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.

For the past four years, she has owned a food stall business, where neighbours and town dwellers go. She faces a major challenge of fluctuations in the number of clients, hence leading to losses of perishable goods.

With the KES 20,000, she wants to purchase stock of goods such as sugar, rice, maize and wheat flour, and cooking fat oil. She dreams of expanding to a modern café in the business.
