Phoin's story

Mrs. Phoin M. was born in 1970 and she now lives in Boeng Veng village in Kampong Cham province. She is a farmer who cultivates rice to earn a living. In this plantation, she now faces a small problem because her field is infertile which has a bad effect on her crop. In order to deal with this problem, Mrs. Phoin M. decided to ask for a loan to buy fertilizer to amend the field to make her crop more productive.

Additionally, she plans to use any remainder of the loan to hire laborers to work on the field. Her husband, Mr. Pheourn Saroeurn, helps her in the plantation. Mrs. Phoin M. is 38 years old and the mother of three children two of whom are attending the local school while the youngest one is too young to work or study because that child is only four years old. Her husband is with her in the picture.
