Liliana's story

Liliana M. M. lives in Pucallpa, Peru. It is the district capital of the Ucayali department in the hot, humid jungle region of eastern Peru. Liliana is twenty-eight years old and is married to a taxi driver; together they have one small child. Liliana is a member of the Talented Women community bank and has taken out small business loans through her group for one and a half years.

Liliana is currently requesting a Kiva loan of 1,500 Nuevo Soles to help her purchase groceries and foodstuffs to implement her business. Liliana sells meals to a casino, preparing them in her home and dropping them off at the casino every evening at eight pm for sale. With her Kiva loan, Liliana will purchase rice, potatoes and onions among others. She will repay the loan in four monthly installments.
