Rocio Del Pilar's story

Mrs. Rocío del Pilar A. M. is 40 years old and belongs to the Community Bank "Las Emprendedoras II" (The Enterprising Women II). She lives at Avenue Petro Peru Mz E, lot 8 of the Salaverry Port in the province of Trujillo, state of La Libertad, Peru. She completed her secondary education and due to a vision problem could not continue studying. Instead she dedicated herself to the business world. She got married when she was 22 and she has 5 children whom are still students. Pilar began by selling small things from outside her front door and today she has a large store where she sells first aid items and stationary items, among other things. Her store has grown in the same place, her home. With her first loan of 300 soles, repaid in 4 payments, she bought rice, oil and pasta and began her small store. With this loan of 1200 soles to be repaid in 6 payments, she will buy fruitcake, champagne, milk and chocolate for the Christmas holiday. Pilar's greatest wish is to see her children become professionals.
