Ponlork's story

Mr. Ponlork N., 35, and his wife, Mrs. Sopheak Khorn, 34 live in a small village across the Mekong River about 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh. They married in 1994 and have four children: three sons who are learning Khmer traditional music and one young daughter.

Ponlork has been a musician for nine years. He wants to create another business producing rice wine to get extra income for his family. His wife has been selling fish and raising pigs for three years. Ponlork also assists his wife in raising pigs when he has free time. He is requesting a loan of US$ 600 to purchase raw materials for producing rice wine.
