A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase inventory grocery.

Phal's story

Phal P., 29, is a motorcycle taxi driver. He provides his service for passengers going from village to village in the area of his community, and he can earn around US$ 3 each day to buy food for his family. He is married to Keo Sokhey who is a grocery seller. She sells items such as cooked food and sweets for kids; she has experience in this business for a long time. Keo Sokhey now has four children, all of whom are single; one of her daughters is employed as a worker in Malaysia.

P. is requesting a loan of US$ 1000 to purchase grocery inventory for his wife to sell and piglets to raise. The family lives in Kompong Tom Province. (P.'s wife is pictured, because he was not available that day.)
