A loan helped to secure the lease in a commercial kitchen.

Divanna's story

Originally from Tijuana, Mexico, Divanna graduated from the Iberoamericana University with a graphic design degree. Divanna, with the help of her husband, a chef, created a spread that is made out of organic ingredients. They started selling their spreads in a small local farmers' market and other events in Tijuana.

She is a talented graphic designer and has designed most of the artwork for the spreads. Divanna and her husband would like to bring their product to San Diego, so that they can expand their customer base. In order to do this, Divanna needs to produce the spread from a certified commercial kitchen.

She struggled to find a good place in the U.S. to start producing, but eventually she was able to find the perfect location to manufacture her spreads. Divanna will use her Kiva loan to secure the lease in a commercial kitchen to prepare her spreads under proper food regulations, so that people on both sides of the border can enjoy her delicious spreads.
