A loan of $1,100 helped to purchase dual-purpose cattle.

Ana Celia's story

Ana, 66, did not attend school. She is married, and her husband works with cattle. She has six children, but they are all married with homes of their own; only two grandchildren live with her.

Like her husband, Ana works with cattle. She learned from her husband, and she has been doing this for three years. She decided to do this because she wanted to stay busy, and also to earn extra income. She also receives remittances from the USA.

Ana walks two blocks to the place where she works. Her husband, her son, and a grandson help her. She does not have a fixed schedule.

Ana needs the loan to purchase dual-purpose cattle (for milk and meat); this will allow her to provide her family with a better quality of life.

Her dreams are to be able to continue working in order to give her grandchildren a better future and the opportunity to study.
