A loan of $3,550 helped a member operating capital.

Las Kantutas Group's story

The Kantutus group is represented by Bernardino and is maD. up of 16 members who operate various businesses including: clothing sales; fabric sales; footwear sales; cosmetics sales, sales of baked goods; taxi services; and construction services. As in all commercial endeavors, there's competition and offers to sell similar products at lower costs, so the members have to have products for which there's a lot of demand and sell them for less. One advantage for the group is that their businesses are located outsiD. of the city which gives them greater opportunities to sell. The disadvantage of that for them is that their children can only get a rural education. They hope to send their children to the city where they would receive a better education. The loan will be used to buy merchandise and supplies to meet the demands of the market. The members will be completing their third cycle so they know how to work within a cooperative and have demonstrated the responsibility and honesty required to get financing like that provided by Fundacion Agrocapital.
