A loan of $350 helped purchase inventory.

Susana Elizabeth's story

Susana started her business because the money she earned as a domestic worker wasn’t enough to cover her living expenses. Together with her brother, she decided to set up a small grocery store to pay for their family’s basic needs. They began the store in January of 2003, in the same location it is in today, originally selling only soda, snacks, and a few grocery items. They now sell mostly groceries and wish to add a delicatessen and dairy products to the store. Since opening, the grocery store has attracted more and more customers thanks to good customer service.

Susana needs a loan of 4,500 MXN, which she will pay back in 6 months, to buy merchandise that will meet all of her customers’ needs. These additional sales will both increase income and improve the store’s reputation.
