Seema M. Sharif Group's story

Seema baji is a wife of M. S. who has been a milk seller for the past 20 years. Seema baji resides in the Kot Radha Kishan suburb of Kasur, Pakistan. It’s a half hour distance from Kasur. She is an uneducated lady but she is very responsible. She helps her husband get milk from the buffaloes and then her husband goes to milk shops to sell the milk. She is applying for a loan to buy another buffalo to expand her husband’s milk selling business.

She is a group leader of a few women of her locality. Zareena baji and Bilquis baji each want a loan to buy groceries for their grocery stores. Razia baji and Jana baji each want a loan to buy wood to resell. Naziran baji wants a loan to buy an auto-rickshaw (a local three-wheeled motor vehicle).

This is a group loan. The loan funds will be distributed among the group members, each of whom will invest in her own business. The members mutually guarantee one another's loans. If one member does not repay, the other members are responsible.
