A loan of $500 helped to purchase rice seeds and fertilizers.

Tla's story

Tla S., 28, lives with her husband and their three children in the Siem Reap province. She is a farmer who makes $1.5 per day. Her husband works as both a farmer and a fisherman, earning on average $2 a day. One of their children is attending school, while the other two remain too young. Farming has been difficult in the past year due to poor weather conditions. Mrs. Tla S. is asking for a loan of $500 to purchase rice seeds and fertilizers for the farm.

Her husband is pictured.
