Stella's story

Stella O. is 40 years old, married and the mother of two children. Currently she has all her kids in school. Stella is an entrepreneur, and with lots of hard work she manages various businesses such as baking, selling costume jewelry, and selling ladies' slippers for the past 8, 2 and 6 years respectively. She sells in the community market of New Edubiase, a suburb of Obuasi where she lives with her household.

Stella enjoys selling and it is through this that she obtains her source of livelihood. She is requesting this loan to purchase more baking materials such as flour, margarine, sugar, etc., slippers and jewelry to bolster her stock. Stella believes that she can make lots of proceeds from the businesses especially this Christmas season where lots of her customers buy in bulk, and it is her desire to save more to give her kids a better future through quality education.

Stella belongs to the community group called Philippians Trust Group. Members in this group agree to guarantee and support one another to repay the loan.
