A loan of $3,450 helped a member to purchase raw materials.

Pajchani Group's story

The “Pajchani” Association has been a part of the Pro Mujer Bolivia family for several years. The group is based in the Villa Tejada neighborhood of the city of El Alto and currently has 14 members. They have proven to be an organized group in terms of their loan repayments and internal activities. The majority of the group's members are married with school-aged children. Many have older children who have had to abandon their studies due to lack of economic resources. The group's current objective is to work more in order to generate enough income to pay for their children's education, thereby assuring them a better future.

Within the Association there are different businesses, including the sale of plastic folders and neighborhood shops. But, the main activity of the group is sewing and tailoring. They make “polleras” (traditional pleated skirts), jackets, ponchos, and other items which they sell in stands around the city.

The “Pajchani” Association will use this loan to buy the raw materials necessary to increase production. They will then be able to attract more customers and achieve greater earnings, helping them meet their ultimate objective of improving their economic situation.
