A loan helped to begin trading clothes and generating income.

Nana's story

Nana is 29-year-old married woman. She lives with her husband and 9-year-old son in the Gardabani district. The family has no source of income nowadays. Nana married in early age and wasn’t able to get an education, and so she has no university degree, which is one of the main reasons for her unemployment. She looks after her family and stays home, but she has a great desire to be involved in a trading business.

Nana couldn’t request a loan from financial institutions until the Start Up program began. It is a joint product of Kiva and Credo. She requested a loan of 2,000 USD to begin trading with clothing and bed-clothing. She plans to go to Turkey and purchase the products at wholesale prices and then resell among her friends and villagers. This will give her a chance to earn income and not to depend on her parents. Nana will provide a better future for her family.
