A loan of $750 helped a member to open a shop for selling thing like saucepans, frying pans, and stoves.

Rashid's Group's story

Rashid Mizungi, age 30, is married with one child of four. He has a welding business which he started 18 years ago and he works daily from 7am until 6pm. He is able to earn a monthly profit of about US$ 285.

This will be Rashid’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loan to buy materials for making gates, doors, and windows and he repaid the loan successfully. He now hopes for a second loan to open a shop to start selling things like saucepans, stove, and frying pans.

Rashid will share this loan with subgroup A of the Tunaweza group. The subgroup has 2 members; the other one sells clothes. These members hold each other accountable in paying back their loans. In the picture, Rashid is the man.
