A loan of $1,375 helped a member to buy utensils and fresh seafood to process.

Kamoutène 2 Group's story

After a successful initial experience, we are here to request from Kiva a second granting of a loan that will enable us consolidate our previous work (buying and selling seafood products produced in our eco-village) and also to buy in cities some manufactured goods (common kitchen utensils, cosmetics, and perfumes) to resell in our eco-village and surrounding areas. The first loan enabled us to understand how to earn a living by working honestly and to see how to save money. This time, we want to see to it that our business, which is the marketing of various products, is more formalized because, with this loan amount, we will have a greater ability to meet the demand and also to handle the seafood products being sold by our fishermen, who are active in our eco-village. This will enable us to support ourselves in the fight against poverty, which is very great in our isolated area, that is, Carabane Island.
