A loan of $600 helped raising pigs.

Nguyen Thi's story

Mrs. Nguyễn Thị Đào, 55 years old, lives with her husband and three grown children in Tân Hưng commune, Sóc Sơn district, Hà Nội. In 1996, she became a member of the TYM Fund and borrowed money to buy fishing nets. Since 2003, she and her family have invested capital in raising animals to improve their financial situation. Today, Mrs. Đào and her husband raise both sows and porkers (pigs raised for meat) by their house, and their children all have steady employment. The total family income is now about 3,000,000 VND (180 USD) per month and the financial situation of the family is steadily becoming more secure. In the next lending cycle, she hopes to borrow 10,000,000 VND (600 USD) to purchase more breeding pigs and animal feed.
