A loan of $1,200 helped to increase livestock count.

Gulzoda's story

Gulzoda N. is 28 years old and is married. She stays home and takes care of farm animals. Her father and husband help with growing the livestock for the market. Goats and sheep are their primary animals. Gulzoda’s father is very experienced and knowledgeable about the animals’ proper diet. The goats and sheep are given the feed and oats monthly in order to accelerate their growth. Once fully grown, the animals are sold at a market. The father advises to purchase new livestock right away to feed them for the market again. This cycle allows Gulzoda and her family to support them and to repay their loan on-time. Gulzoda’s husband is often gone because he travels to other countries for work to help support the family. They have yet to have children, so it is easy for Gulzoda to take care of the livestock now. Her husband and father will help with the business once she has children.
