A loan helped to buy bales of used clothing.

Mary's story

Mary B., 40, is married and has six children. Three of her children have completed senior high school and the oldest is now in the second year of university studies. She is a very resourceful wife and mother who works hard to support the family. Mary supports her husband in providing for the household by selling used clothing. Selling used clothing is a very big business in Ghana because brand new clothing is too expensive for the poor. Mary wants to use the loan to buy more bales of used clothing to increase her inventory. She is member of the group called Liberty Trust Group. Her picture was taken at a group meeting. In this group, members provide social collateral for one another to guarantee the repayment of loans. She is grateful for the assistance.
