A loan of $175 helped purchasing ingredients to make snacks.

Magda's story

Magda is married, lives with her husband and one of their children. More than a year ago, this mother and house maker found a solution to supplement the family's low income: preparing and selling snacks like candied peanuts and salted fava beans. Magda cooks preferably in the evenings and goes out every morning distributing her snacks to small grocery stores, and offers them in schools and hospitals. She really enjoys this activity and is planning on expanding her business, motivated by her wish for a better life and to help the last of her children finish his education.

This is her fifth loan with Kiva partner MFP. Before that she participated in a communal bank that closed years ago, so she decided to open another with her neighbors.
The loan will be used to purchase sacks of fava beans and peanuts, as well a a sack of sugar and a large oil can. Having a large amount of ingredients will allow her not to be held back by the constant price increases.
