Alice is a 38-year-old married Ugandan woman living in Kagadi with eight children; six attend school. She has been selling alcohol and farming since 2012 for a better standard of living. She hopes to grow her business and educate her children despite price fluctuations and the general unpredictable weather changes affecting farmers.

Alice intends to use a loan to buy maize and beans for planting. She is a member of Kiguhyo Tweimukye where each member guarantees the other to get a loan since they don’t pledge securities.
