A loan of $325 helped to purchase feed for her trout.

Hilaria's story

Hilaria is 50 years old, studied to the second grade, is married and the mother of seven children. She lives on Chua Chua Street in the Juli district, located in the Chuchito province of Puno.

She is a founding member of the cooperative bank “Mujeres al Progreso de Juli” (“Women of Juli for Progress”), with whom she has worked for six years. With her first loan of 300.00 Peruvian soles, she purchased feed for raising trout -- a business she was involved in prior to joining the bank. She continues working in this arena to be able to pay her loan installments in a timely manner and, concurrently, dedicates herself to producing handmade crafts.

With this loan of 1,000.00 Peruvian soles, to be repaid in four installments, she will buy trout feed.

Her only wishes are to get ahead in her business and to improve her standard of living.
