A loan of $200 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer and insecticide.

Ubaldina's story

Ubaldina is 38 years old - she did not have luck in her marriage - she lives with her 12 year old son and her 80 year old mother. She has been devoted to agricultural work since she was a girl; her father taught her to work on the farm. She gets up at 5:00am to prepare breakfast and lunch for her mother and her son who is studying; then she walks about four kilometers to the farm. It causes her satisfaction that her crops are doing well after the potatoes have been fertilized; she depends on the fertilizer to have good products to harvest. For Ubaldina agriculture has always been profitable; it is her only source of income, and the costs at the market vary, but they provide income just the same. She finds it difficult in that she does not have sufficient money to be able to plant larger quantities. This is the fourth time Ubaldina has a loan with MFP, without difficulty making payments. And she's grateful to those who support her with her activity. With the amount she is soliciting she is going to buy sacks of fertilizer that cost 170 soles ($56) each, also she will buy calcium for the potatoes and insecticides.
