A loan helped to purchase a cow for selling milk and milk products.

Anita's story

Anita has been engaged in a cattle-breeding business for the last five years. She is a rural married woman of 28 years, hailing from Maynaguri. Anita is a mother of one son. Both Anita and her husband Manik studied up to grade 9. Together with her husband, Anita keeps a cow and three goats. She milks the cow and produces curd, butter, and paneer (cottage cheese), while her husband sells the products at the local market.

This is the sole income for the family. This is why Anita and her husband work hard to have a stable income and cover their family's daily costs. Anita's husband also owns a plot of agricultural land where he grows different types of vegetables such as potatoes, beans, gourds, and other seasonal vegetables, which are sold in the market.

Now, in order to expand her dairy business, Anita is requesting a loan from BJS (Kiva's field partner). By applying for this loan, Anita wants to purchase a cow and forage for feeding the livestock. This is very important for her to enlarge the production of dairy products and gather more income for the family. She dreams of having a big farm and works hard to make her dream come true.

She is grateful to her lenders.
