A loan of $975 helped purchase of "pagnes", handbags, and shoes.

Bagnidoma Yawa's story

Miss Bagnidoma Yawa B. was born on September 1, 1977 in Lomé, the capital of Togo. She is single and has no children, so she is able to use her earnings to support herself and help her family. Her business is selling "pagnes" (lengths of brightly colored African cloth used for clothing, turbans, and to strap a baby on your back), handbags, and shoes, and she has never received a loan from WAGES.

This first loan that she is requesting will allow her to buy 30 lengths of Phoénix-brand "pagnes", 10 handbags, and 20 pairs of shoes. This sort of merchandise is very useful as presents during the end-of-year festivities so the demand has grown. With this new stock she will be able to make a lot of sales and fill her customers' needs.
