A loan of $175 helped to purchase children's clothing.

Jinna's story

Jinna belongs to the cooperative bank “Mujeres de Grandes Retos” (“Women of Great Challenges”), in the district and province of Huaraz, in the Ancash department. She is 20 years old and has one child with her partner. She affirms that her biggest challenge has been relocating to the city of Huaraz, as she is originally from the jungle area of Tocache. She has lived in Huaraz for three years, and has started a business selling clothing on order. The place where she lives with her partner, on Manco Cápac Avenue, is where she has installed her business. She started out selling jewelry, and is now investing in clothing sales. Her biggest hurdle is that, at times, her customers forget to pay her or don’t pay her on time. This forces her to seek them out in their respective homes in order to collect. With this loan of 500.00 soles, to be repaid in 4 installments, she will invest in the purchase of children’s clothes. Jinna plans to expand her business, and is grateful for the cooperative bank’s support and collaboration towards her growth.
