A loan of $100 helped purchase a milk producing cow.

Francisca's story

Francisca is a 53-year-old widow who lives with her son. She worked in agriculture and has raised animals for more than 40 years. Out of all of her projects, she enjoys raising cattle the most. She goes out every morning to milk her cows in order to get the delicious, fresh milk that she sells or makes into cheese, which is a very profitable business. She takes the cheese to various markets where she sells them at prices that make all her hard work worth it. Many people enjoy drinking milk and eating cheese and all Francisca has to do is feed her cows well for them to produce in greater quantities. The most difficult time for her business is when her cows have calves and their production for her business diminishes for a period of time. This is Francisca’s first loan with MFP; she plans to purchase another cow with the money she wishes to borrow.
