A loan of $975 helped a member to buy a stock of fruit and vegetables for some and to buy groceries for catering for others.

Djèkafo Group's story

The members of the group Djèkafo are married women who have five children on average. They live in the Sanankoroba area (located 25 km from Bamako, the capital of Mali) and know one another by ties of friendship and marriage.

For their small business to survive, they joined the solidarity loan program Soro Yiriwaso through the village association Siguidja. They are on their sixth loan. All of their previous loans have been repaid.

They all get their supplies of diverse foodstuffs in Bamako once a month. In addition to selling these goods, some members do catering. With this loan, they intend to acquire 90 kg of fruit and vegetables and 105 kg of various food items. The projected monthly profit is estimated at 25,000 francs CFA.
