Djèkafo Group

The members of the group Djèkafo are married women who have five children on average. They live in the Sanankoroba area (located 25 km from Bamako, the capital of Mali) and know one another by ties of friendship and marriage.

For their small business to survive, they joined the solidarity loan program Soro Yiriwaso through the village association Siguidja. They are on their sixth loan. All of their previous loans have been repaid.

They all get their supplies of diverse foodstuffs in Bamako once a month. In addition to selling these goods, some members do catering. With this loan, they intend to acquire 90 kg of fruit and vegetables and 105 kg of various food items. The projected monthly profit is estimated at 25,000 francs CFA.

Vivant dans la localité de Sanankoroba (situé à 25 kilomètres de Bamako la capital du Mali), les membres du groupe djèkafo sont des femmes mariéesavec en moyenne cinq (5) enfants. Elles se sont connues par des liens d’amitié et de mariage.
Pour la survie de leur pétit commerce, elles ont intégré le programme de prêt solidaire de Soro Yiriwaso à travers l’association siguidja du village et elles sont à leur sixième prêt tous les prêts antérieurs ont été bien remboursés.
Elles s’approvisionnent toutes en diverses denrées alimentaires à Bamako une fois par mois. En plus de la vente des denrées alimentaires certains membres font de la restauration. Avec ce prêt elles comptent acquérir 90 kilogrammes de fruits et légumes et 105 kilogrammes de divers denrées alimentaires. Le bénéfice previsionnel mensuel est estimé à 25.000 FCFA.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
