Sitchonisiwe's story

Sitchonisiwe is a 30-year-old mother of one. She lives in the Mwenezi District of Zimbabwe.

Ever since she left school she has been running a business selling groceries. She supplies the community with sugar, rice, tea, stationary, sanitary items, cooking oil, and potato chips. She has managed to save and expand the business to the small shop that she now operates at the local business center. She serves as a Peer Educator in her community and as a Camfed Learner Guide at the local secondary school. As a Learner Guide she teaches students study skills and about their well being.

With the Kiva loan Sitchonisiwe is going to make bulk purchases to reduce her costs and increase sales volume and profits. She hopes to be economically stable so that she can support her siblings through school.
