A loan of $500 helped buy CDs for resale.

Yola's story

Yola, 19, is partnered and has a 5 year old son. She lives with her mother. When she was 16 years old, she started working in a restaurant as an assistant to the cook, but a year ago she decided to set up a shop where she sells, rents and reproduces music and movie CDs. For now, the business is very profitable because she doesn't have any competitors. She always yearned for this kind of business. Her husband is a farm laborer and when he's not working, he helps her with her business. Her main obstacle now is that she doesn't have enough capital to stock the business or make the space she uses for it more attractive and inviting. This is her first loan with MFP. With the money, she plans to buy a few thousand blank CDs and movies of all kinds.
