A loan of $600 helped to buy vegetables, fish, seafood, and to make and sell ice.

Yaye's story

Yaye D., age 58, is a widow with seven children in her care. She has been a member of the village loan group Missirah for a year. She sells vegetables, displayed on a table, and also ice, which she sustains with the paying of the electricity bills. Yaye wants to do trade in vegetables, dried fish, smoked fish, and packaged seafood. She has already purchased an upright freezer and wants to bolster her business. Her income enables her to improve the family's well-being. She is requesting a loan that will be repaid all at once at the end of six months.
