Ali M. is a 35-year-old married man with four children. All of his children are currently in school.
M. is one of the few wholesale provision shop owners in his community. He has run this business for four years. M. buys his goods from Kumasi, a city, to stock his shop.
Since many provision shop owners in his community buy from him, he wants more working capital to buy goods in bulk to be able to meet the increasing demand of his customers. M. belongs to a group called “Peace” in his community. The group members guarantee one another as collateral to access the loan.
