A loan helped to buy new stationary supplies for the upcoming school season.

Mouna's story

Mouna is a 50-year-old Palestinian refugee, a married mother of six children, who lives in a Palestinian refugee camp.

Due to the low social and financial situations of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, especially those who live in the camp, she decided 14 years ago to open a stationary shop to help her husband in covering their family’s expenses and needs.

Throughout the years, Mona was able, with her hard work and ambitions, to gain lots of customers in addition to a good reputation in her region.

Today, she is acquiring a loan from Kiva’s field partner Al Majmoua to increase her business merchandise with new stationary supplies for the upcoming school season, which will increase her income and develop her business.

Mouna always hopes to expand her business and increase her profit to provide her beloved children with better social and financial living conditions, as she hopes this loan will help her achieve her dream of expanding her working place.
