HUANCAYO, Peru / Restaurant

A loan of $200 helped buy food supplies and glass to decorate the tables.

Eva's story

Eva is 27 years old and lives with her two children. She has been working for three years in a restaurant that she opened in partnership with her sister. In the restaurant, they offer a variety of breakfasts and lunches at modest prices. The restaurant is located near a regional hospital. They recently locations because the lease was very expensive. Their current location is more affordable. Eva works everyday and rests in the afternoons after selling lunches and cleaning the restaurant for the next day. Her biggest worry is for her small children. She is the only support that they have, so she cannot stay until late at night in the restaurant. Her greatest longing is to own a higher-quality restaurant in a more commercial area. This is the first time that she is requesting a loan with MFP. She was invited by the village bank because the members know her and know that she is responsible. With this money, Eva will buy, in bulk, the food supplies needed to prepare the lunches and glass to decorate the tables.
