Merly Heydi's story

Mrs. Merly Heydi belongs to the communal bank "Loreto", located in the Jr. León de Judas Mz. 31 Lt. 5 AA.HH "Luz y Paz", Manantay District, Coronel Portillo Province, in the Ucayali Region of Peru. She is a 25-year-old mother of two dependent children; she is married and her husband works driving a motokar (3-wheeled motorized rickshaw). With the first loan she received from Manuela Ramos of 300 soles, she invested in selling groceries. She has worked with the communal bank for one year. Currently she works selling clothing door-to-door. She spends her mornings dedicated to the children and in the afternoons she goes out to sell her merchandise to her clients. With this 2,000 soles loan, which will be paid back in 5 months, she will buy 5 dozen girls' outfits, 5 dozen blouses, 1 dozen pairs of pants, 2 dozen shirts, etc. Merly is grateful to God for keeping her family together and to the communal bank for its help.
