Francisca Xavier Macuacua's story

Francisca Xavier M. is from the city of Maputo, neighborhood of Chamanculo, she is 32 years old, married with 3 children, who are 10, 8 and 5 years old. Besides her kids, she also supports her mother and brother sending them money monthly.

Francisca didn’t finish school as she got pregnant and started a business after she gave birth because the father of her child didn’t work. She has to travel around communities in the interior in order to buy the goats, so she couldn’t keep studying.

Francisca works buying and selling goats for profit since 1998. She gets a monthly profit of approximately 12500.00mt. and saves 2500.00mt a month.

For Francisca this is her first loan in Hluvuku and Kiva, with the money she wants to increase her inventory to respond better to the demand of the end of the year holidays. She also dreams in buying a container to use it as a fixed place to sell her animals.
